Well, my friends, we’ve got a different kind of eye candy for you today. Once upon a time (okay…in 2010), I ran a site called HotNerdsReadingComics.com. Before I tell you about it, of course I’m going to show you my favorite hot nerd.
The site itself started as a joke. I was talking to the amazing Cheryl Lynn Eaton on Twitter about a Tumblr that was popular at the time, Hot Dudes Reading. (It’s now on Instagram and still going strong with over a million followers. Maybe I should have taken Hot Nerds more seriously!)
We couldn’t help but notice that none of these “hot” dudes were reading our beloved comics, which would have TRULY made them hot. So, off to Tumblr I went to make my own version. I asked people to send in submissions and also took photos of my friends at cons. The result was, well, a lot of pics of people you may be familiar with. Take a peek!

Here we have artist Jim Mahfood reading his own comic. Believe in yourself, buddy.
Yowza. This is Boone Platt and his brother Cheetah. You might recognize Boone as Sergeant Gardner Grayle on Black Lightning. You wouldn’t recognize Cheetah from his many appearances on Legacies, because he’s always covered in monster makeup.
I eventually quit the site because I got tired of people sending me half-naked photos of themselves lying on top of their comics. I know…it was a real tough gig.
