Hey! Joanne here! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! I was home with the sniffles, but that didn’t stop me from eating ALL THE THINGS. In the spirit of the season, I want to quickly say how thankful I am for the whole team here at Glass Eye. Everyone was working through the holiday, even though I told them to stop and take a breather. But they’re a very dedicated bunch, and I don’t know what I’d do without them.
Other things I’m incredibly thankful for:
My cat, Babboo. You know in The Golden Compass how everyone has an animal daemon, and it’s basically like a part of them? And when the kids get cut off from it, it’s like their soul has been removed? Yeah. That’s how I feel about my cat.
My bidet. Let’s be honest…this is the one good thing to come out of the pandemic. Before Covid, we were just mushing poo around with paper like savages. NOW WE ARE TRULY CLEAN.
Reality competition shows. People don’t respect reality TV. But if you want to learn about human behavior, watch something like Survivor, or The Challenge, or even Great Pottery Throw Down. You’re going to see people from different walks of life reacting to high-pressure situations. And that’s the key to good storytelling.
Alright, enough gratitude. BRING ON THE COMICS.
Previously—Hu followed his new “friend” Thea home from the market, and was quite surprised to see how different her living situation was from his own. Need a reminder? Check out the story so far!
